Have a 1 1/2 yr old MkIII last week the parking sensors make a constant noise as soon as they are sqitched on, anyone any ideas of what it could be, appears to be coming from the front sensors but ths also seems to override the rear ones as well, Any ides of why they are sounding like this? Thanks in Advance

New gauze was fitted yesterday on the car and was succesful in getting rid of the noise (for how long I dont know) but as wife picked it up she just said if the noise had gone, service guy said yes and she was happy, will phone service up later to see if this was the problem.

  My gal is in fords at the moment as the noise is unbearably bad, after changing the power steering pump on friday, the noise was still quite prominent, booked in again thsi week, they have investigated it and (correct me if im wrong) there is a gauze in a reservoir which is faulty and apparently letting out too much air!! and so this is the reason for the noise, they have ordered a new one which should arrive tomorrow and so hopefully pick it up and get rid of the 3 door fiesta thay have given me out of courtesy. Will keep updated

New Model Power Steering Noise (1.9 Tdi)
wazza replied to recycle's topic in MKIII Technical section
I have had this problem, and my car went in on friday to have a new steering pump fitted, and the noise was still louder than ever, My garage were helpful and say they havent heard of this before and they have phoned technical support at fords and they are still flumuxed. I have dropped the car again today and they have agreed to sort out the problem. Will keep you posted -
My power steering has been making a whining noise which has become unbearable, booked in next week to have new pump put in under warranty.

My 56 galaxy had an overnight stay at my ford dealer last week so that they could see if they could solve the problem, Anyway they phoned my wife to say that they needed to replace the whole power steering system (whatever that means, I have tried to get hold of the service guy nut he is now not in till after Xmas). The noise is now on constantly and sounds more when accellerating, car due to go in 1st week of Jan so will update when it is sorted

The whine on my car (2l petrol) became inceasingly worse a couple of weeks ago, went to fords on friday and they said it was the power steering, anyway they bled the pump (i think) but the noise there but slightly mr bearable. Anyway it has been booked in for a couple of days in 2weeks time, will update when I have a decent answer, by the way, My has been most helpful with us (evans halshaw in Bexley KENT) as I here some people appear to be palmed off with excuses.

New Galaxy - Rear Quarter Opening Vents
wazza replied to Dr Phibes's topic in MKIII Technical section
I have a MkIII galaxy 2.0 Ghia registered in Jan 07, I remember asking the question when we picked up the car and the salesman saying that the quarter vents are not available on the latest gALAXY, I will double check tonight but I am pretty sure that they are not on my Car. I have just looked on Fords website and downloaded the latest brochure which shows that electrically operated rear vents are an option on the zetec and Ghia and not standard. -
I've had my mkIII for about 3mths now, Overall i am really please with it compared to the MkII I had before. The conveniance of the seats folding flat into the floor are a godsend as I found the boot too small (In both cars) even with the backs of the seats folded down as I have nowhere really to store them, but with my kids they are always losing something for instacne my middle child dropped his pen for his nintendo DS this weekend and found it had dropped into the seat runner. after about an hour i managed to get it out, but with the old MkII once the seats are out it is so easy to clean and find things you may have dropped. above g4hlf mentioned that his rear quarter windows didnt close properly , I have also have a ghia but do not have these and I thought they were not featured on the new one, was this an option on the car or standard?? and yes my central overhead console also is starting to rattle.

Thank you mumof4,

BISCUIT, Yes it is true, No spare wheel, I asked the question and got some spiel from our salesman that the spare wheel is 'dead weight' and also some rubbish about 75% of flat tyres are replaced by roadside recovery and not by the driver. I just think that when they designed the fold flat seat system (which by the way is easy and wuick to do rather than removing and storing the seats you dont need) that they found they had nowhere to put it and so just put a repair kit behind the drivers seat. Anyway my wife is the one who drives it the most and I dont think she'd have clue :) how to change the tyre but with the repair kit she may half a chance of trying to get home.

Black Number Plate With Silver Lettering
wazza replied to wazza's topic in Customising your Ford Galaxy
RadioTwo No it was a new shape with 06 reg, but I will check with DVLA Thanks -
I saw a porsche over the weekend with these number plates on both front and back and wondered whether they were legal as I think they might look good on my Sea Grey Galaxy. Any body got any ideas

Will post some over the weekend as will be dark when im home from work!

Went for the petrol because have read 1.8 diesel is worst engine on the new galaxy and 2.0 diesel was an extra

Picked up the new gal on saturday. Initial thoughts is I like it, it was parked next to a mkII at the ford garage and appeared to be lower down and wider. I took it on the motorway and was very quiet. Inside the seats do not seem to be as 'padded' as the MkII but do not see that as a major problem. The fold flat system is easy to use and a lot less cumbersome than trying to haul out the seats. Loads of cubby holes especially in the roof but not that sturdy, panorama roof is a nice touch and am glad I have got it. Overall at the moment I am really pleased with it, the only reservation I have is there is no spare wheel, Im not sure how well the tyre repair kit works and to what extent I will hopefully not find out . Will post some pics when I get the chance

Have gone for 2.0 petrol Ghia with Panorama roof in Sea Grey. We like the Idea of the folding seats as with the MkII it was becoming a permanent 7 Seater as we have nowhere out of the way to store the 2 Back seats. Will post my initial findings nextweek
