i can help you with the relay problem. you need to undo the retaining screw on the bracket for the fusebox and the drop it out once you have lifted it down there are two stages of relays to get to the second layer push the clips in the middle on the sides of the first set of relays to release.

i have just started having a problem with the courtesy lights in my R reg galaxy Ghia the courtesy lights dont always turn off after the engine is started. they do eventually but it takes about 5 minutes. its a it anoying as people can see in the boot and foot wells at night enventually they do go out. could this be the start of a similar problem as above? there is no water in the footwells at and as far as the wires in the door gaters goes they seem fine although i have only checked them once mind.

will do, cheers. i had the same problem with mine open up the boot pulled off the rubber at the top unwrapped the cloth tape keeping the wires together and bobs ur uncle!!! i had 3 wires snipped into and about 3or 4 frayed. a few bullet connectors later and i now have a wiper that works !! :) all i need now is to replace the bloody wiper blade :angry: If any one has a mk1 galaxy i have a whole rear wiper assembly that i bought before looking ton this site if any one is interested let me know!!

yep i had this problem too open the rubber at the top of the boot and had about 6 broken wires now i have a rear wiper that works too!

if you put the motor on the wrong way will the window still work? i have a rear window which works in reverse and im just woundering if the previous owners have put the motor on the wrong way?

I too had a simalar problem my rear wiper hasnt worked since i got the car along with a host of other problems im slowly working through. will have to try looking for that to see if thats whats wrong. ive seen the msg about the black fuse box in the engine bay will have to have another look for that too i have a 97 r reg galaxy 2.3l ghia peterol with similar electrical problems sometimes the head lights stay on when the engine is turned off if you leave the indicators on. also i have a rear electric window that works in reverse no mater which switch you use.
