  2. Just had my car in the garage to fix limp mode problem that turned out to be maf sensor although nothing was pointing at that. anyway they gave me a list of other things that need doing and i would like some advice compressor pulley being the most concering to me. tyres close to leagal limit /easy get tyres replaced. brake judder noticed on road test /there was terrable brake judder when i bourght the car so i replaced the front disks and pads my self a month or two ago and the brake judder was gone but it seems to have come back not as bad but noticeable when braking at high speed could it be the disks again or is there something else that causes that. Is it a mot fail air conditioning pump pully in poor condition.the chap in the garage says there is play in the pulley and said it could be just a new pulley best case or could need a new compressor worst case /the a/c dosnt work at the moment no gas in the system is it likey to be the pulley is it easy to check and replace the compressor dosnt make any funny noises. inner cv boots need replaceing i new this and was going to give this a bash my self has anyone tryed these stretch on c/v boots are they any good aux belt needs replaceing again new this and was going to do this my self is this easy job i know on my old vectra the aux belt when round a engine mount and was a b##ch. and last but not least play in front top strut mountings ive seen on another post it is unlikely thay they are worn how would i check if these need replacing..is this mot fail sorry theres so much in this post but the quote ive been given to get all this fix is over

  12. Hi ive noticed when putting the passanger electric window up from the drivers side when it go's up with one touch it go's all the way up then drops back half way. If you hold the up switch it go's all the way up and stays there just wondering what i should start checking first.
  13. Hi there When the belt was changed the first time was that just the belt, or the belt and pulley kit? if it was only the belt you should seriously think on changing pulleys and belt, just not worth chancing. If your really confident about doing this by tippexing and getting belt tension correct thats fine, these are quite roomy to work on once all the covers and mounting is out the way and visibility is good, but if you have any doubt get local help. hi i just had my water pump done at a local garage i also had the cambelt tentioners and pulleys replaced it cost me
  14. hi i didnt meaure it but i would say the plug in total size was aprox 2" the element was 3/4" bolt on +/- connection.
  15. im not an expert but i would be werey of fumes comming from oil cap or dipstick
  16. I striped down the heater today to fit new glowplug only to find i had the wrong replacement after removing the old one i attached it to 12v and it heats up dos this meen the glow plug is ok. whats the coding on the new plug?how much was it?,i too have got to change my plug as well,im assuming just because it heats up is it enough to get the heater to work properly? The new plug is rpd8360 and seems to have a push fit connector not a bolt on like mine it was only about 7 quid so i wasnt convinced it was right but was assured i can change it if it wasnt correct. on the up side removal and refitting if quick and easy even with the odd seized torx screw took less that an hour and half.

  20. i suspect this could be many things but i would check aux water pump its a small electric pump on the bulkhead behind the expantion tank you should hear it after you turn the engine off it still runs on for a few mins. its main function is to pump water round the heater matrix.
  21. Hi its worth checking the earth that is connected by a nut behind the light. you will find the + connections under the side vents that clear the little windows at the front to the sides of the dash just get a flat bladed tool and pry them up under you will find the thick red wire and connector that powers the screen you should get 13+v at that point.
