  1. I recieved new clocks from a scrapyard and plugged them in, the problem is not there anymore, seems to be fine so after all it looks like the clocks. Will find out after the thaw.
  2. Fault found in dash clocks, still waiting to get them back, hopefully, just hopefully
  3. ps, forgot to say, i doubt it will be the tensioner, but when your in there change the alternator belt at least, and ask yourself the question does it need a timing belt? Also make a sketch of which way the belt runs before you take it off. hope this helps
  4. I have a 1.9tdi galaxy Y plate whitch had the same problem, i changed 2 tensioners, 3 belts, 1 ford original and anti slip spray, Also had the power steering pump overhalled all at great f;;;;;;; expense cos there was a wee bit movement in the pully, and still squeakin was still there. Eventually the problem was this , at the end of the alternator pully there is a clutch which allows it to spin faster when the engine is slowing down, cost about
  5. Ok, point taken, it could be a water leak, which it has by the way, but not entirely convinced as it does it when its dry too. I took it to the auto electricians who diagnosed the dash clocks themselves being at fault, then being a sceptic i took it to a friend who works with VW audi, he is pretty good with these things and a galaxy is a VW in short, he has recommended taking the dash clocks out the car which he has done to be sent away for testing, heres hoping (more money) looking about 200 bucks. He told me i could drive IT in the meantime as the immobiliser is not connected to them, and everything else worked, which was fine until the battery randown and died on me, prob to do with the clocks not being connected, I got i jump start and it is in my drive with its legs firmly split open and awaiting the clocks to be returned, HOPEFULLY WITH A FAULT IN THEM. Im happy to pay the 200 of so quid if it fixes it. Now about the windscreen, is it a reseal job or whole window out? Thanks guys for your help, i will be in touch with the solution, if poss. Much appreciated. ;)
  6. Ok I lifted the bonnet and checked the fuses just in front of the battery and all seem to be in order and shiny silver with no signs of corrosion. My wife tells me it was playing up today and its been raining all day. I had a look under the dash which was wet at the fuses area (right knee), i am starting to think its a water leak thats causing it, and i reckon i need to get that sorted first and hopefully the problem will go away, problem is where do i start with the water leak??
  7. Dash Electrics Going Haywire Then Cutting Out Completly, Its a Y plate Galaxy 1.9 TDI After starting up sometimes the dash electrics go crazy , starts beeping , flashing oil light, flashing all lights, no rev counter,no speedo, oil light flashing on off, abs light flashing on off, air bag light flashing on , off. Sometimes just driving along it can start to go crazy. At times the whole dash lights cut out apart form indicator and full beam lights. Then all is fine and working for a while. It seems to be worse when it raining? Short? I took it to local auto electric
