Hiya. This part sheered off on my VW Sharan 1.8T - 2000. Have bodged it with a bit of hose pipe and cable tie but have no idea what it's called and where I can get one. Any ideas.???

okay just had the thing recharged. Goes to a lovely cool temperature :). but then the compressor stops. It has a mind of its own. Sometimes it will come on sometimes not. When it does the system works fine. Any ideas?? The air con switch light always stays on.

Hiya . Just tried finding the low pressure air con port on my MK 1 1999 2.3 Petrol Galaxy. Looked behind drivers indicator and found nothing. Took wheel surround away on drivers side front wheel and saw a big black box. (not sure what that is :)). Any ideas ??

When I press the aircon button in the car it lights up. That's pretty much it. I don't hear clicks from the engine. It doen't sound like the car is suddenly under load and the second fan on the radiator doesnt do anything. I have been advised that a regas might help (car been sitting in a garage for a year) but surely even if the gas is knackard I would hear some of the things I've described. Any Help Appreciated. Pads are good. Handbrake working fine just that it needs to be lifted all the way to engage.

Im having a pain even budging this nut. Its hard to get torsion on it as when you try to use a spanner the cable twists with it. Is there any tricks you know of how to loosen this nut up so I can adjust the handbrake. Have tried the ol' WD40 but no luck :D

Hiya Weird problem. Car runs like a dream. Occasionally, when coming to a full stop the engine dies and I have to restart the car. It normally idols fine at 1000 revs. It starts first time and idles fine. Always starts first time in the mornings. Revs dont drop when I turn every electrical thing on in the car so im guessing alternator is okay. Any ideas? I have a Ford Galaxy 2.3 (1999) Kind Regards Wayne

Nah checked that.Disconnected wire. temp gauge goes to zero. reconnected it straight back to max :(

This seems like an obvious problem. Just need someone to agree Get up in the morning. Nice and cold outside. Car completely cold. Turn key to ignition and Temperature gauge goes straight to MAX with flashing light. Stays there all the time. Fans working okay. Everything else sounds okay. Coolant in expansion tank is not overley hot after a short journey. Do you think the Temp sender unit thing is faulty?

Car runs fine. Accelerates fine etc but if I take my foot off the accelrator I get a knocking noise for half a second. No noise when I accelerate or change gear, or if I slowly release the accelerator. It only occirs when I take my foot off it. Any ideas?

I Have attached a picture of the problem. It seems like the metal that holds the sunroof pulley has sheard. The worm threads all work fine. Is this fixable. Check out the piccy. The smaller bit it sheard off from is the bit thats attached to the worm thread .

Just been hit with two problems today. Are they common and is it going to cost me a fortune to fix lol i) I think the sunroof has come off its runners or something on 1 side. Opens okay in tilt mode but wont budge on one side on the way down. Wont open at all in retract mode. ii) The windscreen wiper control arm keepings popping out of it's ball joint. Kev forgot to say that the recovery guy tested the alternator when he checkit it over and said the Alternator was running fine and sending the correct voltage/ampage (whatever it is) to the battery Don't know where the battery junction box is? Could you advise please Couple of things i could think. i) battery not holding its charge. How old is it? ii) Short Circuit in a live circuit which is discharging the battery. iii) Tempremental fault with alternator. May be charging but may be tempremental. I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the battery. Got a new one and the problem didn't arise again

Hi Any ideas on this one Just bought a car. Have the key with the torch on it and thats it. No Fob. No other keys. Will have to get Ford to sort that out. Heres the issue. The key I got starts the car no probs and opens the tailgate. It doesnt open any door (The lock just spins - a security feature i believe) When i lock or unlock the drivers door from the inside the central locking operates the drivers door and petrol cap only. No other door. All other door only operate themselves. Dont know what I did but a few hours ago the drivers door wouldnt open at all even from the inside. I played around with the igintion lock and tailgate lock and it seems to work now. Think theres a ghost there lol. So the question is. Whats going on? How much do you think it will cost to have the keys and fob replaced? Many Thanks Ice

Hi A Couple of questions i) The inner door handle shields which are attached to the door card seem to have broke on all but 2 of my doors is it possible to get them or will I need the whole door card. ii) Where can i get them :D. Do ford still supply them? Kind Regards Ice
