Having some problems with me 1998 Sharan TDI 110 AFN engine checked for fault codes using a mates Seally reader but nothing showing apart from AC fault & air bag fault that I already know about. The problem I am getting is in 1st gear (sometimes 2nd) when I pull away it feels low on power then about 3-4k RPM its like the turbo chimes in in one go rather than the progressive power I have had for years. There is no excessive smoke & oil consumtion is as normal. Higher gear doesn't seem to show up any loss in power. There is no warning light & its not going to limp mode. It had a new MAF about a year ago, but have tried disconnected it. Also, & I dont know if this is related, but she will start 1st time from cold no hessitations but with a warm engine it can take 5-10 secs of cranking over before she will catch. I did have a cold start problem last winter glow plugs not coming on turned out to be the 4 pin temp sensors on the coolant pipe, which sorted that fault. I have been told it could be the vacuum pipes to the turbo & n75 relay, or the ERG is clogged up. Its is the 1.9 TDI AFN engine with 157,000 mile on it. So I am looking for any advice about this. TIA TAM
