  1. About 8 months ago someone broke into our car using something to force the lock open. I replaced the lock but then recently the same thing happened again... I've just replaced the lock again so the car is lockable but I'm worried it will happen again. I had thought of replacing the lock with one with no barrel but the robbers might just force the boot open. They just rummaged through the car and stole the spare tyre last time... This time the looked and found nothing but they must have tried to pull the fascia of the centre column, so the heated window buttons stick a bit. Are there any aftermarket alarm fitters in West London (Ealing) that people have used? I don't might replacing the alarm on the car as the stock one is not that good. I've seen the post mentioning OEM handles with no barrel on eBay for £15 the Galaxy I have has colour coded handles to match the body, but I don't mind swapping to a stock colour.
  2. Thanks SilverBeast and Mirez all sorted out! Passed the MOT, the place charged me
  3. If by position light you mean the indicator. If it's the same as in my 2005 MkII it has a long extension stalk attached to the back of it. You need to rotate through approximately 90 degrees anticlockwise (as viewed from the inside the wheelarch). The stalk and bulb then pull out. You replace the bulb in the stalk and refitting is the reverse. Try and remember which way the stalk is oriented when you withdraw it as you need it in the same position when you reinsert it, though I think it can be 180degrees out. It's such a pain to do as there is a plastic moulding in the arch that takes the air from the intake in the grill into the box with the air filter. Grea thanks the position light is what I used to call park lights or side lights but on the MOT refusal they call them position lights. Thanks for the description will take a look. Plan B is the Torx25, remove the 2 central and losen the 2 outer (lower ones need a long reach Torx) Managed to find the photo. http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/uploads/monthly_07_2010/post-8971-068237300%201279117950.jpg
  4. Where have all the photo's gone for this thread? My 2003 Galaxy failed its MOT due to a failed front right position lamp. I can open the panel in the arch fine and feel into the rear of the front light cluster. I'm not sure what to do next as I need to remove a cover for the position light, or pop the headlight out. However without the photos or diagrams I'm at a loss how to proceed.
