Odd A/C behaviour: At idle speed, the vent temp will drop to approx. 6 degrees with an ambient of about 18. As soon as you set off driving, the vent temp increases to almost ambient. The rad fans are workng fine, does anyone know of a cure? Ta

Looks like I spoke too soon! After voting that I had suffered no problems at all, the AC failed earlier this year. Next week, it's going back to the dealers for the sixth time to see if they can find the leak.......

Alhambra Tyres (again)
popeye2755 replied to popeye2755's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Apparently the "C" rating dictates extra load. All of this info. is coming from ATS/KwikFit, apparently many people do not fit the correct tyres to their cars, due to the extra cost involved. -

There are others who make the size quoted, but according to the tyre people, they aren't commercial rated tyres. -
Alhambra Tyres (again)
popeye2755 replied to popeye2755's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Because the Insurance company/lease company/manufacturer all advise that all tyres (including the spare) are exact same size. -
Hi all, posted about this a few years ago, and once again it seems that I can't get any tyres for my car! The tyres in question are Bridgestone 205/55R16C ER30C, and according to ATS and KwikFit, there are none available in the country until the middle of next month. Also, there are apparently no alternatives available in that direct size. 215's could be fitted, but the lease company are complaining about the cost of fitting 5 tyres when only 3 are needed. Main question is: Do any other Alhambra owners have the same trouble I have getting new bloody tyres for their cars??? Cheers

The same thing happened to me with my wifes Polo. Went to the local VW dealer, who matched the correct locking nut within minutes, and only charged us a fiver for a new one!

Galaxy Tdi Won't Start.
popeye2755 replied to jackthehat.co.uk's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Someone will probably shoot me down here, but on all of my previous cars, including 2 galaxies, that indicates a knackered battery. Have you tried jumping it? -

Just out of interest, what happens to the dash lights when you try and turn the engine over? -
Faulty Electric Window
popeye2755 replied to tiny's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Mine does this one and off, the following normally clears it: Open the offending windows fully. Get out, close the door and insert the key into the lock. Turn the key to lock the doors, and then hold it till the window(s) fully close. Get back in, (after unlocking obviously!) and try the windows again. -
Just had 2 new Bridgestones (ER30C) fitted. Total cost to company?.........

New Tyres Fitted At Last

The last time I had tyres fitted it cost -
Sorry, I assumed you used the keyfob to do the global closing, rather than the door lock. My apologies!

I get this quite often with my Alhambra. Have you tried opening the window all the way, then hold the key in the "lock" position in the drivers door until the window is fully closed? This seems to "reset" the window. Works for me anyway.......

Probably a stupid question, but does the lastest Alhambra come with a service booklet that gets stamped at every service? Just got mine back from the garage, and I cant find the service booklet anywhere.... Cheers

Andy, what do you mean by "The grey/orange wire showed a dim 12v" I thought you were using a voltmeter? Or are you using a "voltstick" bulb thingy? Cheers John

It drags on and on...... KwitFit mobile came and swapped the tyres, so the bigger ones were on the back. Today they came and changed the bigger tyres to the original size. Brilliant! until I checked the tyres... They have put Bridgestone ER300 (not ER30C) which are not reiniforced. I rang KwitFit who couldn't believe what had happened. They told me they'll be round first thing to put the bigger Dunlops back on the rear wheels until they can get the ER30C's...... Bloody Brilliant...
