Hi there, When my wiper linkage went, i found it really hard to get it appart and in the end, had to get another from frauds. But it was really easy to put back in and set back up again. Good old Haynes manual... :)

Hi, i know this going to be a long shot, but i have had a simular problem with my 2.3 auto and it turn out to be the exhaust, the cat had gone and was blocking escaping gases. My be worth checking.
