  1. I have just transferred to eSure from FordInsure. Last year FordInsure was
  2. I changed my front 2020s at 14,000 as not much tread left, was last Autumn and thought best to have full treads through the winter. Rears show no wear as yet, now on 19,000. In my experience it pays to shop around. My usual tyre place quoted
  3. I notice several of you regular members refer to a 'TIS disc' I assume this is similar to old workshop manuals but now on CD-ROM. Where do you get one from (somewhere in FoMoCo?) and how much do they cost? Are they available to anyone and run on a home computer... Windows XP? PeteR
  4. HI GaryM... this is my first reply as am new boy! My parking sensors stopped working after Ford dealer repaired my non-working rear window washer and I collected my car back from them! Reason was (they said), washer pump is located at front nearside over the parking sensor module and leak from this corroded the module... was 'just coincidence' it happened whilst they had Galaxy in for washer repair. Anyway, after several attempts they managed to restore beepers to original working and sounds. As I said, module is somewhere under washer bottle in front nearside wing. Rear beepers are in rear corners of the body, front beeper under passenger seat (where, incidently, is also located the inertia fuel cut-off switch, not under driver's seat although it would be on left-hand drives!) The distance sensor beepers drove me mad when I first had the car, now I wouldn't be without them as they make parking so easy (and lazy!) Cheers. PeterR
  5. Thanks JB, but where is the idle control valve!!?? Everything is very inaccessible under Galaxy bonnet. What about the engine management module? Although I think the extra engine heat of lengthy idling probably provokes the problem.
  6. Has anyone else experience problems with tickover speed? My 2001 2.3 Galaxy normally ticks over in traffic at normal speed of about 800rpm but occasionally in stop/start traffic.... rush hour or in motorway jams it seems to go out of control and can speed up to 2000rpm with no way to stop it although dropping the clutch pedal sometimes has the effect of slowing the engine down a bit. I am reluctant to approach my Ford dealer as fault isn't there all the time and often dealer cures one fault and creates another. Anyone any ideas?/
