I had the same as galaxychap. I blamed my wife who went bananas saying she would never do such a daft thing. Then it happened again when she was not around. Humble pie time :unsure: I checked for water ingress but there wasn't any. Switches OK, but my mechanism in one of the windows packed in about 3 weeks later. Possibly coincidence only.

Thanks for the answers so far. Very interested to know if the clips and cables are available seperately. When I spoke to VW they said I could only get a complete unit, but dealerships have been wrong before. My motor is fine, so idealy I don't want to have to buy a complete unit with motor. It's just how difficult it is to fit old motor to new mechanism.

My electric windows and sunroof are misbehaving. The drivers window will no longer auto close when you hold the close button and then let go. Passenger side is fine. Added to this the sunroof will not autoclose on the key. The windows (inc driver side) do. They were all working fine a few weeks ago, so something somewhere has gone phut. I'm hoping someone else has had this and knows exactly which thingymebob in the whatsit I need to change/repair !!!! :unsure:

I guess it could be angle grinder and welding rods, but I wonder if it is easier (in the long run - and presuming the car needs another exhaust in the future) to change the mount points on the floorpan? Hi I have an early V6 Galaxy on an M plate. The rear box is on the way out and apparently there was a change to the exhaust system from Nov 95 on. The earlier version is now deleted by most manufacturers (so I'm told). Does anyone know if the back boxes are interchangeable from the later series. I have a Timax catalogue and they look broadly similar, but the mounts seem to be in different places. Thanks
