hi these wheels are listed on ebay as 16" for ford galaxy, so im asuming there for the face lift model regards fatblokes

hello, i have a v-reg 2.3i auto ghia-x galaxy. it has on it 16inch alloys that are skufted ,one because of my curbing two because of the shape. my question is i want to change these for other original galaxy alloys but im not sure of which types i can use, i have read on this forum about the newer wheels (on mk2) are not able to be used, do i have to use 16 inch wheels can i use 15 inch? i have seen a couple of galaxys of the same age as mine that have newer type wheels that i have seen on the newer shape is this possible? thanks in advance. i have added a picture of my car (black one) and a picture of a car with the wheels i have seen. fatblokes . if possible can you post photos of type that can be safely used. thanks my car wheels ive seen

on reading this forum i see a lot of people trying to code there keys, in august my car failed to start after getting petrol, the aa said it was down to the immobiliser. i tried all sorts of things first but in the end i took my car to a little garage and he supplied two new keys and coded them both for

in case any body was interested, i have sorted the problem. i took it to a local garage he said the key i had, had become uncoded from the ecu. because i only had one key he could not recode it. i purchased two new remote keys and he cut and coded them now all is well with my car. he said he had a lot of trouble coding them as when one was coded the other would not, also by him doing this my remote locking works aswell now as this has never worked in all the time i have had the car, i tried before to recode my key for this but it would not ever code.

to add i have seen a few posts mentioning about a no 30 relay, i have renewed this but no different.

hello, i have a 2.3i auto ghia-x 1999 v reg galaxy. my problem is i stop for some petrol in a garage and turn my ignition off leaving the key in, filled up went to start the car but no start. all the display is on and i have had the battery checked. an nice aa man come out and put it down to the imobiliser because he turn on the ignition and tried to start it remotely. at this time the starter turned but the engine did not fire. he towed me back. now i have had a look at all the fuses and made sure the relays are in place. i checked the auto inhibiter then i managed to get the starter turning but still no start up. the little led on the drivers door comes on for a moment then flashes fast, in reading the hand book this seams to tell me the imobiliser has not been turned off. i only have one key which has never remotely unlocked the car but i seamed to be able to code the key and the door light flashed to confirm the job but it never unlocked. now i have tried to set the code by the same method and the door does not flash to confirm. is this a nasty thing that will cost a lot of money? can it be something simple? the car also has an after market alarm which does not seam to be connected to any thing that may stopit from starting. thanks for you time in advance. fatblokes

:D i have a 99 2.3 ghia-x auto v reg. the question is i have tried to program my key as discriped in this forum, and the light on the door changes so im sure something is happening, the key will not unlock or lock my door. if i unlock by the key all the doors and boot unlock i can also close the windows by the key. the thing i have read about is there is a box under the passengers seat, mine does not have this, my car has a alarm that appears to be not standard and it has a place for me to reset my alarm with a fob i have on the dash. does any body know if i need this box thing under my seat for the remote key to work? apart from the remote side of it the doors and windows unlock and open with out a problem. thanks fatblokes

i have a 99 galaxy 2.3 ghia x, the problem is dick where i live love parking by using my bumpers as a guide. the question is will the bumpers of a newer model (the bumpers with the plastic trim) gone on my model? as this would save my poor paint work thanks. :lol:

just to let you all know, my brake lights failed. when i was asked if they were working it seams that they were but intermitently, so i purchased a new switch for 15 quid and the lights and the gear stick problem are both sorted. thanks once again for your help. fatblokes mark

i have not had a chance to look at the switch yet, and as for putting the car into gear while pressing the brake this is normal to me, i just got rid of a 535i auto bmw and i had to do that any way. i was just conserned that nothing else was messing up without me knowing. thanks for you help guys. fatblokes mark

on the dash of my car there a two orange/yellow star like lights on the picture of the car at the back by the boot, these have always gone off as soon as i press the brake. one time one did not but i change the bulb then the display worked again. for now i have unpluged the solenoid under the gear shift cover this is working but i would like to find out where it is controlled from to see if there is a problem there. thanks again. fatblokes

i have a 2.3 auto galaxy ghia x v reg, the problem is the button wont depress on the gear selector. it has a feature that only allows you to press when the brake pedal is pressed but it aint working. when the ignition is off i can select gears so i know the solonoid aint sticking, can any body help me with this problem? thanks in advance. mark

hi i have a 99 2.3 ghia x auto galaxy, i got from a relative cheap, and he did not have it long so i dont know the history that well, the key i have has buttons which i assume would lock, unlock the doors, i have coded the key as discribe in the owners manual and the little light on the door flash as the manual said but the key does not unlock, lock the doors. also i have a seperate imobiliser on the dash wich if the alarm sounds i connect the fob and it resets, i dont think this would be standard? when i lock the door with the key the car imits a beep then the indicators flash then the alarm is armed. has somone played about with this alarm? can somone explain the way to code these keys? should i have a imobiliser thing on the dash? thanks in advance mark f (fatblokes@freeuk.com)
