hi guys, i have a 99.9% complete 2.8 auto r red 98 galaxy with 83,000 miles on it. i bought it and had a little bit of trouble with the auto box. i have since changed the filter and replace the fluid and all seams ok but since i had the trouble i got a 96 2.8 manual car which is lovey to drive because of the power. i have since swopped the interia and made my car good, the new one only had 6 seats this was the main reason for changing the interia. so i have a complete 1998 ghia 2.8 auto with 2 months tax and about 9 months mot, it will need cooling fans as i used the ones from it on mine but that is all from under the bonnet, the interia will need putting back and maybe a couple of bits replacing. i was going to keep it but i was away over the weekend and my son asked if he could refit the interia, on doing so he drove it into a wall, this cracked one of the lights and scuffed the bumper. i have moved it but it needs to be sold. i will put it on ebay in a week or so unless anybody would like to make me an offer. it still has the original 16" alloys with 4 good tyres. im sure someone may find a use for it. let me know and also let me know if i am not allowed to post things like this. thanks

hi guys, don't know if im allowed to put this on here, i have a 99.9% complete 2.8 auto 98 galaxy with 83,000 miles on it. i bought it and had a little bit of trouble with the auto box. i have since changed the filter and replace the fluid and all seams ok but since i had the trouble i got a 96 2.8 manual car which is lovey to drive because of the power. i have since swopped the interia and made my car good, the new one only had 6 seats this was the main reason for changing the interia. so i have a complete 1998 ghia 2.8 auto with 2 months tax and about 9 months mot, it will need cooling fans as i used the ones from it on mine but that is all from under the bonnet, the interia will need putting back and maybe a couple of bits replacing. i was going to keep it but i was away over the weekend and my son asked if he could refit the interia, on doing so he drove it into a wall, this cracked one of the lights and scuffed the bumper. i have moved it but it needs to be sold. i will put it on ebay in a week or so unless anybody would like to make me an offer. it still has the original 16" alloys with 4 good tyres. im sure someone may find a use for it. let me know and also let me know if i am not allowed to post things like this. thanks

2.8 V6 A Bit Warm
fatblokes replied to fatblokes's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
all sorted, i changed the thermostat, what a pig that was with my sausage size fingers but i kept on and i mangaged to do it, the temp sits on the o and r of the temp gauge and goes up to the m and the fan comes on and it sits back in the middle. great. thanks very much cyborb for all you help. -
2.8 V6 A Bit Warm

hi again cyborb, i had another look today, and as a precaution changed both the resitor and the fan control relay from my other car and noticed one of the fans was not coming on (the top one) so i swopped both of the vans also, i have fans running now if i put the air con on but the temp still gets warm, the bottom hose is not getting hot so i think it is now the thermostat. on that not the fans still do not seam to kick in early, could this be as the temp sensor on the rad is on the bottom hose side? i will pop out and get a thermostat but do you think it may be worth changing the temo sensor also while the coolant is drained? thanks for you help -

hi again cyborb, i tried the air con and the fans did not come on, i left it for about 2 mins, i checked the fuses all looks ok. the green resister you mentioned, i was not sure where that was located, any chance of a picture? the others i have not checked yet. thanks -
hi all, firstly i would like to say a big hello to everyone, i have posted before but failed to say hello so HELLO! Now, i now have a 2.8 v6 manual 96 p reg galaxy, i got this as my 2.8 auto let me down, the car runs really well and all seams good but the temperture seams a bit warm compared to my last galaxy's i have had. in the past i have had 3 galaxy's 1 a 2.3 and 2 being 2.8 all of them have always had the temperture needle sit in the middle of the word norm on the dash but this one seams to sit on the m of the word norm or just past. the fan does kick in but it dont seam to kick in as often as the others i have had, could it be the sensor that is on the rad or does any body think there could be something else wrong? i still have a complete car with a 2.8 engine with 82,000 miles on it so i have a lump if i need one but i was hoping it may be something less drastic. also you can smell it is a bit warm. the oil temperture sits around 113 is this norm? i have never noticed this on my others. thanks in advance
