I don't know if this is relevant and I am not a mechanic. I've got a Golf Driver as well as a Gal. When I bought the Golf the gear change was like stirring thick syrup. I bought a bush kit and changed one on the linkage that connects the gear stick to the gearbox to solve the problem. When I reconnected the linkage it wasn't in the correct place so I didn't have all the right gears in the right place or could only get a few. It took a lot of trial and error to eventually get it set up correctly. Is there any chance that the linkage could have moved or broken in some way at all? Probably not if you haven't been tinkering with it but its worth considering. I don't know how accessible it is though. Good Luck and hope its not too expensive

Try selling in the Army newspaper "Sixth Sense." There are always people looking for continetal headlights. You might even get a swap. http://sixthsense.bfgnet.de/Motor1.htm -
Waste of time. Silica gel is hygroscopic - it takes moisture out of the air. Once they are damp they are useless unless you dry them out again. Unless you could make the bin liners completely air tight moisture would eventually get in anyway.

Try a few comparison websites like confused.com and the likes. I'm with more>than and from past experiences have for some daft reason send me a renewal higher than the previous year even with another claims-free year - so what i normally do is use the comparison site and get a lower premium and guess what - another year with more>than! Yep, same company, cancel the renewal and take out a new policy with the same company. Very strange you may ask. Register with quidco.com (a cashback website) and receive

Silly question but are you sure you are using the right lever and not the one for rotating the seats?

Anyone Used Vegatable Oil In There Tdi?
sparky29 replied to jamesey's topic in Questions about the Ford Galaxy
Its the garages (especially the independants) that don't make much money and have to become mini supermarkets to make a profit. The oil companies are making making record :o profits (as well as Gordon Brown :o ) http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/busi...icle3285665.ece Anyway, we are hijacking jameseys thread. Try doing a search and make your own mind up. I went on the Pajero forum before I did it and there were loads of people doing it. After doing another search a post a link on a post by codhead took me to this site http://www.elsbett.de/forms/ekit After following the links it is selling an SVO conversion so maybe it is possible to safely run on straight veggie oil on the newer engines. -
Anyone Used Vegatable Oil In There Tdi?
sparky29 replied to jamesey's topic in Questions about the Ford Galaxy
Funnily enough I have a Pajero which I am just about to get rid of and have been running it on chip fat for four years with no problems. I am just about to get my 03 plate Gal when my money clears in their bank, probably Wed, and have been reading up on this. The consensus is that it is a different type of engine and it is not advisible to do it. Hopefully someone will come on here and prove me wrong because I am fed up contributing to Shells obscene record breaking -
I had a look at the car today. The front tyres have been replaced recently. The only extra in addition to the Ghia spec was the built in car seats, which I need. It also has the CD multichanger but I don't know if that is standard or not. The car has one small ding on the door from a car park and is otherwise in excellent condition for a 4 1/2 year old car. The only thing I could find wrong with it is the reversing sensor beeps intermittently when the sensors are turned on. I'm not too worried about that though. Well I took the plunge and parted with

Thanks for your replies. Correct me if I'm wrong, I read somewhere, probably on this forum that originally cam belts were supposed to be changed at 60k but Ford or Volkswagon changed their minds after some failures and recommended after 40k for the first change and every 60k after that. Edit: http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=15653 - cam belt change interval I'm living in a small town in Gloucestershire where there is a lot of inbreeding and everybody knows everybodys business. I was picking up the kids from school and one of the mums knew that I was looking out for a Galaxy and also knew that someone else was trading one in. The man selling it is a decent and honest bloke and the car has been well maintained. He has had no problems with it whatsoeverand that is why he is getting his fourth one. I'm not worried about not having a warranty because it has been well looked after. He has got a few bob and will probably take

Misfire And Auto Gearbox Problems?
sparky29 replied to sparky29's topic in Questions about the Ford Galaxy
I know that the Galaxy is based on the Sharan and uses the same engine. I just think it is a bit poor if Ford have to refer a Ford car to another badge for support. I've got an auto Pajero and have got lazy. I really like aiming it instead of having to drive it, especially in heavy traffic. Causes a bit of a problem when I drive like a woman in the other car which is a manual when it starts to "kangaroo" when I forget to dip the clutch :16: You've convinced me that the auto box is out and the left boot is back in. Is the misfire problem a common problem? -
I'm looking to buy a Diesel Galaxy. After nearly being stung with a Galaxy with a misfire problem I have been reading through the Forums and I am amazed at how complicated and expensive this is to fix. Also I am amazed how Ford dealers are referring customers to VW for diagnosis. Is "Misfire problems" a common fault with the Galaxy/ Sharan or just a common post on here and it appears that way? I was also looking to buy an auto. A lot of people are saying the auto gearboxes are a bit suspect. Should I buy an auto or play it safe with a manual? Thanks for any advice
