  1. http://www.venommotorsport.com/product_det...gory=Suspension seem to be fairly reputable.....going to germany in a few weeks so will have to see if there is any savings to be had there ! Matt whose coil overs you looking at? I killed a set of FK's at the 18 month mark! although I liked their rear set up as they came with adjustable mounts!
  2. Is that the sound of an offer !?????? What would you pay for the shocks and springs if I did decide to go to coilovers, which incidentally I have looked at this week, lol. Would offset the cost of the new ones slightly ! (help me justify doing it !!!) Matt
  3. The drop balances the level of the car slightly with the drop. Un-even tyre wear is due to the camber and toe-in(or out) changes in the suspension when you lower it. You should always have a wheel alignment and camber adjusted after lowering......been there and worn through a set of tyres in 6 months, had the camber and alignment done and bingo no worries and full life from the tyres again. I do think that a strut brace would be a great bonus to the bamma/galaxy/sharan as when I push it hard you can feel the car slink slightly (slide slightly) over as the suspension takes the weight shift. Who's gonna design one appears there is a market here ! I have the SE model thus the sports suspension (eibach) as standard it is a compliant ride and handles brilliantly for a car this size....recommended....but as we all seem to agree still not low enough imo. Anyone done the coilover route and what is the ride like...? Mattt
  4. Have a look for the seat SE suspension set (by Eibach) it is much better than the ford/VW/ and normal SEAT S models, especially if paired with the 17" wheels. Sure it's interchangeable ! Matt
  5. I assume you have tried the parts finder sites.....they try to bid for the trade.....an option !
  6. It is pretty hard to get diesel to make any decent sound apparantly ! There is a roar/whoosh type of noise but nothing spectacular....... unlike my old XR4x4i with Ashley 3.5" pipes and only 2 race silencers which shakes the windows in the street !!!!!!!!!!! not load just BASS(y)! shame I had too many kids to keep that one. ;) Matt
  7. lol Yeah, blaming the daughter and her bike for the scratch.... I travel abroad so often I just can't be bothered to take the GB sticker off ! I need to look at a chipex kit for the scratch on the bumper and the bonnet is peppered too. Worn out spare....you can see the tread and the blank bit is optical illusion as that is the side wall...perpective is deceiving....(I even had a look to check as I cannot remember using the spare ever !!!!!! lol). Matt
  8. Ian you have a 2005 1.9 TDi zetec. Is this the asz engine ie the VAG TD pump deus under fords engine badge ? The reason I ask is that I had my turbo take out my engine in my alhambra and the replacement engine is from a 55 plate galaxy ! This leads to an interesting dilema on the dual mass issue for me ! are the PD130's on a 55plate included ? or do I follow the rational that the alhambra 2003 flywheel is what I should be looking at ! any ideas anyone ? Cheers, Matt
  9. http://www.topspeed.com/cars/seat/se...a-ar88464.html I'm unsure on the styling looks pretty similar to the Galaxy III
  10. Here are the piccies:
  11. Well after my engine + turbo having being replaced at Xmas what else could go wrong ! The exhaust snapping of course ! So explored the options and found for
  12. very nice. great choice of rims. Got me looking at rims now ! Matt
  13. Hi, Have you still got this for sale ? Matt
  14. MkIII gal better handling than an alhambra ? You must have been in a base model ! I have a 2003 SE and as that has the sports suspension (eibach) as standard. Thought that the new Gal was smoother but down to the fact the suspension is softer and it rolled a lot more in the windy bits. Engine wasn't as spritely as my 130 either, but then it may just need to be loosened up. Space in the bammer in those rear most seats is worse agreed ! get a dealer used bammer SE (or whatever they call the top spec) and you have a fully loaded car nice and cheap. PS New Bammer is due end 2008 on a stretched Passat platform. The Saran models are all more luxury oriented - seat is sport oriented. (vag covering all angles !).
  15. just checked out the coilovers on venomsports site. Please post your pics so I can see the 80mm drop mate. May be what I do ! Got the SEAT 17" on at the moment with 225/45/R17 tyres which should maintain a bit of absorbsion. A lower profile I reckon would ruin the ride on the Bamma.
  16. Luxeon LEDS are just cast a little differently. Like a diamond cut, this with a slightly larger current makes them road legal. You can get current reducers to stop the blown bulb warnings on new circuits, they fit in line on the circuit returning the right signals !!
  17. They are not dis-proven either........................ The theory works, as the mix correctly done is similar in properties to nitrous. I am tempted to give it a whirl when my warrantee runs out.
  18. OXO, fancy you being in here too ! your bamma is looking nice bud. regards, Matt,
  19. I have been wondering about this in My 52plate alhambra !! lol
