Hey Im new to the forum and I would like to say that this is my first Galaxy, I brought it new years eve 2007 second hand (its a 51 reg 2.3 ghia) and I think it is a fantastic car. Sure It has a few faults but nothing that cant be sorted out. This forum is probably the most helpful I have found on the web and I have already founmd answers to some of my issues!!!So ford gets the thumbs up from me I LOVE my Galaxy!!!!

I dont know if this will help but... My brother in law has a MK1 VR6 on a w plate (this is also falling apart) I have a 2.3 Mk2... we both think the Mk2 is a better car although I should have gone for the 2.8 engine too!!!! but I have a friend that has the diesel engine and he suggests the V6 petrol for towing as the diesel really dont like the hills with a caravan on the back (especially in cornwall!). Hope our opinions were helpful

Hi there, I have a 2.3 2001 galaxy and I have found it relativly economical to run.... I am getting around 26 mpg around town and 32 on a run (when I say economical I am comparing it to my last car which was a 4L Jeep Cherokee, anything is economical after the 12 mpg of that thing!!!) but I still think that my gal is reasonable on fuel for such a large car.
