Just to let everyone know, I've finally bought a new Galaxy :ph34r:, the spec is as follows: Silver, Tdi 130BHP, 03 Plate, 57k on the clock I'm so happy Picked it up from a little garage outside Bedford, and they're gunna be doing the big 60k service which is included in the price..and i'm gunna get a full valet done Picking it up next week sometime, I can't wait ;)

Arghh!!..I'm so annoyed! Looking for a Galaxy between 7 and 8 thousand pounds and they are getting sold so quickly!! Its so hard finding the right one :lol:

We went from a Gal to a Passat and missed the Galaxy a lot...the main thing was the extra space and the ability to take all the seats out whenever required.

I understand what you mean, I've rang one of the dealers up and they've said 60k to me, I'm just concerned as to why it hasn't been changed for several thousands of miles. All the Galaxy's I've been looking at all are around the sort've mileage where the cambelt needs changing, its quite frustrating.

Okay I'm back, but with a revised budget of around 7 grand! I'm looking at roughly an 02 plate with no more than 70,000 miles and its so annoying, the quick ones are getting sold so quick! Aahh, the quest is still on

Hi all, I'm on the lookout for a Galaxy and for my budget, the the mileages vary between 50,000 and 70,000 and many of the Galaxy's haven't had the cambelt change. This is the thing that is concerning me, of course I can haggle the price down a bit due to the service having to be done but I'm not sure as to when the cambelt has to be changed. Is it 60,000? I'm currently interested in one Galaxy which is Full Ford Service History but once again, the cambelt hasn't been changed. I can tell you the mileage intervals now and they are as follows: 10,419 21,126 31,243 40,499 53,869 The car is now on about 67,800 miles and I'm still a little concerned about why the cambelt hasn't been changed. The seller is a trader by the way. Another question!...I know the prices charged by each dealership vary a lot, but what sort've price do they charge for the cambelt change and a service? Any help would be appreciated Ricky Singh.

Hi Stevie, thanks for the quick reply...so im assuming that the galaxy engines are just as strong. One type that I don't want is LX and then theres the zetec and ghia and then theres some 130bhp ones. Should I hold out for a ghia or 130 bhp one?..What much extra does a Ghia have? Thanks. Hi guys, new to the forum Back in the summer, we had a 2000 Galaxy Tdi Zetec and it was unfortunatly written off. Since then we have had a Vw Passat which we sold due to my Dad realising that he misses a 7 seater car. So next year, we will be looking for another 7 seater and of course, a Galaxy is an option. We will be looking to spend anything up to about 9 grand i suppose and I was wondering about all the other ones...Seat Alhambra and Vw Sharan? Is there anything about any of them that make them better then any of the others? Ours had just done 80,000 and it was fine apart from it needing a new clutch. I know the Volkswagen diesel engines are renowned for being very reliable, so would it be worth getting the Vw Sharan instead due to the engine? From what I can see, the interior in the Galaxy looks much better! Another question!...The Ford Automatic gearboxes on the Galaxy, how are they? how reliable are they? Also, when the the new registeration plate comes out in March '08, will the prices drop even more? Thanks to anyone who can answer these questions Ricky.

The mass meter, is that the same as the MAF> (Air Mass Meter)?? I remember having a problem with one of my dub's, i took it out..drove it and it drove lovely which meant it had to be replaced!

In terms of size, are the Galaxy, Sharan and Alhambra exactly the same in terms?...
