hi saif yes you need whats called an a licence you start off training with someone in the club who has a full licence and when they think you are ready the give you a test take off a figure 8 circuit then you come in to land and do what they call a touch and go which means you come in as if to land as you touch down you open the throttle and take off (they teach you to do this in case of people walking on to the flight line )then you do another circuit and come back in to land that then gives you your provisional whic enables you to fly without accompniment for about 6 weeks so as to give you practice you then have to take your full test without mistakes you also must have insurance which you normaly get when you join a club as planes do and have killed

cheers big kev thats nice to know as ive said ive been a mechanic for god knows how many years theres not many cars that i havent worked on including a bentley arnarge 1999 t reg replaced brakes and fixed abs on that one ive rebuilt an alfa 145 engine from the crank up ive installed high power ice and alarms welded my brother in laws transit chasis that took 2 days even when the garage said that they wouldnt touch it said that it would cost too much

hi mumof4 unfortunatly i havent flowen for 3 years i passed my provisional A but couldnt find a qualified pilot to take my test with so gave up i have three planes a piper cub (flair kit) a flair puppetier biplane and a razzal funfly and i am dieing to get back to flying as it was so enjoyable i need to replace all of the nicads in the radio gear and recievers but as im unemployed (through medical reasons) this will have to wait
