This is the first time I have given any advice on this site but after reading about your problem I feel compelled to reply. I had the same problem with a DW5s and after renewing the glow plug with both a standard and an upgraded one,re-setting the fault codes checking fuel delivery,ect,ect it still tried to start dripped out fuel smoked and then went to lockout till the next time.Finally I renewed the whole unit which worked perfectly and stripped the old unit down,on doing so i found oxidisation in one of the cut out airways between the gasket and burner face ,(I can only asume the heater had not worked for a while) which would have been preventing enough air entering the burner .a new gasket and clean up would probably be the answer. Hope this does the trick.
