My autochanger stopped working too. I took it to bits but could see nothing wrong/I could fix. On reinstalling it, the same error 5 message came up. I decided to try and extract the CD cassette by sliding a thin flat piece of plastic down between the bottom long edge of the cassette (right hand side) and the aperture for it, and then sliding it to the left to push the locking tab over. Next thing I know the unit starts whiring and seemed to reset itself. It now works as normal. Hope this helps someone.
