Latest Thoughts On Wiper Blades?
Airrex7 replied to Mikef's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hello Rockdoctor, Came across your post & link, the info was excellent but I have some questions. My vehicle is an 03 Galaxy petrol. Are you saying orignal wiper arms don't need replacing, just the blades themselves to be able to benift from the areotwin design? You say you have to remove plastic cap but can't tell in advance, which end did you remove, top or the bottom of the arms? Because the link is in German, the link you provided, are you able to say if those blades would they fit my year Galaxy? -
Hello Dave, I have ordered 4 x Wanli S 1099 XL 97 W. I have been told categorically the S does not stand for Summer.

Hello Dave, Insider, Thanks for the replies, information and links. Insider, thank you, very informative. Dave, those are the exact tyres I was looking to fit but just discovered that the S in the product code stands for Summer. I have been told that Summer/Winter ratings are for US roads and it doesn't matter if we fit Summer/Winter rated tyres here in the UK, does it make any difference to wear or performance? Is there any truth in this or was I been given sales BS?

Due to wear I need to replace all four tyres on my Galaxy. Fitted at the moment are Goodyear Continentals 215/55/R16/ 95H Radial Reinforced. I went to this site here and found under the Wanli brand, 1063 97W XL or 1099 XL 97W. They appear good value, mail order budgets the former being

Thank you every one who has replied, er--- massive hands, so is it simply a question of lifting the bonnet and removing retaining bolts so as to remove headlight units or is there more to it? Can anyone answer my original question as to what type of lamp I need and is it possible to swap to those brighter blue lamps?

2003 Galaxy, semi auto 2.3 This has probably been asked, one of my main front lamps, ( bulb ) have blown. I don't have a manual, do I need to remove headlight fitting to replace lamp, how do I do this please? What product code/type do I ask for? Is it possible to swap the lamps for brighter ones without increasing the wattage output, maybe those lights that appear blue, what should I be asking for?

Yup, that's my house hold, down to a T., thanks Nikpv. I have another question about keys but I want to post a photo but can't because my lot have grabbed the digis and are about to be grounded for life unless I get one back quick. -

Remote Locking And Unlocking

Hi Nikpv, Was that a serious answer or am I missing something?, I know on some remotes, by changing the battery or changing one at a time, it will keep the programing. -
Remote Locking And Unlocking

2.3 petrol/LPG 03 Galaxy Hello, I too am having this hit miss affair with remote locking/unlocking. Something I have never been completely sure of reading through the posts on this subject, by simply replacing the battery in the key fob does it then need to be re-programmed? -
Hmmm, so not just Seat then, shows you how observant I am,----never.

So there I was with my youngest daughter in the Gal' the other evening, Dad she said why are those two round lights turned off, pointing to the back of an 05 Seat Ibiiza in front? Ah I said all knowing, those are the reverse lights, they shine brightly when you put the car into reverse to go backwards. Yes daddy but why is one clear and one red? There not darling, they are both clear, maybe the right one looks a bit red because the red light next to it is somehow reflecting into it. So she gives out one of those scorn sighs that only a little girl can have for daddy and became a little madam,--------dad, it's red. A little teasing ensued but damn if she wasn't right. I thought all UK vehicles made after 1992 had to have 2 fitted reversing lights, this Ibiza only had one, the other I assume was a fog light, is that right?

Oh! I see, I've just fallen in, I think,--------snot,--- right?

? Thank you Big Kev, I feel a bit stupid now, When I had my owners manual, I remember reading about it.

Hello, I took a photo of the instrument panel, I wanted to continue with my speedo thread but couldn't figure how to insert picture, kept asking for a URL. I've still yet to resolve the engine check light, I'll do that to day if I can, meanwhile,---- in the RPM counter, ( left hand side ) there is a small little green light that comes on every so often, looks like a mini RPM counter, what is the purpose of this light and should it be showing?

Thank you Nik, I never saw that button on the stalk.

Hello Sydorf and thankyou. I run the vehicle on LPG all the time, accept the inicial warm/start up. I haven't tried the above, I don't know if the servoce guys did but I'll give it a go. However before the service, with the vehicle running on LPG. there was never an engine check light, it's since the service, the vehicle however is running great, it just un-nerves me a bit.

Hello Bogjam, it does, and thank you, I've had the vehicle for a year now, still know very little. I didn't realise that about the stalk, I'll look at that tomorow.

Sorry.........the answer is here......your owner's manual Stating the obvious is one of my failings..... I don't have one.

Thank you Insider. The FIS is rarely blank on my vehicle when on the move, just sometimes and I thought this maybe a fault. I wish this forum would allow newbies to post photo's, it would resolve so much, however I can see it causing just as many problems.

Seat Kid, how could any one not be, it's meant to be so, your post is a bit like asking someone who doesn't know how to spell a word and telling them to look in a dictionary. Why can't you just as equally, if bothered or if you can, provide a link or links to the answers?, if they exist, has a better impact, surely as a member of this forum you would want to better the impact this forum has for others, you would want members to think well of you instead of you being led by the nose to explain yourself. I know your lack of understanding maybe be of a hindrance to you but instead of giving the impression to others you might be an arrogant pip squeek, (please no offence intended ), are you able to help me?
