Just a thought, how do new members introduce themselves if they cant post new topics for a while?

A good point. Perhaps M4 can open a thread for this purpose and pin it?

 

Although looking at Dannyboy's cd changer thread it would seem that new members can still start topics.

I totally agree with those sentiments! but what action is taken against long term fully fledged members that post nonsense replys?

i thought the ethos of the forum was about hospitality, support and inclusion, and not about restrictions, exclusions and eliteism. what we must remember is that we were all new members at some stage :ph34r:

The hospitality is here and there is no elitism here, what I am doing is simply making life slightly easier for the adminsm, as the site is getting bigger day by day we are attacked by a lot of spambots from all over the world, there are about 40 email domains banned from the site but new ones pop up on a daily basis.

 

This ensures that even if a spambot gets through they cannot post, it also ensures that anybody who register with a problem has to use the search facility.

 

For immediate help they can start a topic in the trainee area, it also makes registering aliases a bit pointless.

 

I deleted 954 members from the database which were known forum spammers or nonsense posters, that is a long days work where I could have been doing other things.

 

The hospitality side of it is, its free to enter, you can search a mountain of information, you don't have to register to read, you can reply to other threads when registered.

 

Its like a points system once you get upto 30 posts you are upgraded.

Yes..from time to time..i post crass posts....practically everyone does..including you judging by your post..but then again....theirs doesnt get up your nose like mine does...what can i say......tough!

 

As was pointed out to me by a very valued member of this forum....dont pi55 of the mods or admin..as they can do things you cant...(thats the polite version) :P

 

Everyone has their own different writing style, their way of explaining things.Everyone of us on this forum had to learn from somewhere about the cars they drive.....i dont claim to know everything as i dont..but this forum, whether you like it or not has changed for the better i believe, it is more open and friendly..if you dont like it..then you have a couple of options.....

 

1.Dont log on.

2.Ignore above mentioned crass posts
