Dave-G Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 Could anyone locate this sensor for me please? other fault codes found: 01166 engine torque signal, signal outside specifications - intermittent. 00652 Gear monitoring: implausible signal intermittent. The Auto box is a bit erratic of late - mostly when cold... so I feel it best to try the auto fluid temp sensor first? Engine code is AUY if that helps. Quote
El Dingo Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 Hi Dave, I've had a look on ETKA but can't find this item. (I always thought one used VAG-COM or similar to check the temperature when refilling, but this doesn't mean that there isn't a temperature sensor...). Quote
NikpV Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 vag-com must get the temperature from somewhere  Quote
NikpV Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 Yep gets it from the Transmission fluid temperature sensor (TFT) dtc 00300 - still no closer to te location though  Quote
Dave-G Posted October 21, 2006 Author Report Posted October 21, 2006 Can't find it on ford TIS :D Quote

El Dingo Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 vag-com must get the temperature from somewhere :D :D It's magic! :D (Hmm, yes, now that I think about it.... :D ) Quote
Dave-G Posted October 22, 2006 Author Report Posted October 22, 2006 Thanks nik - so I can't really check it myself... don't feel qualified to dismantle a gearbox :D I'll be taking it to an auto specialist on monday for their ideas. I have warranty direct to fall back on :D Quote
Dave-G Posted October 23, 2006 Author Report Posted October 23, 2006 Huh! The auto specialist is some 12 miles away, and the gearbox had warmed up to working temperature Could not fault it on the test drive  I've arranged to leave it there tonight for a cold test drive & diagnostic. Quote
Dave-G Posted October 24, 2006 Author Report Posted October 24, 2006 Hmm - they suggest a possible fix would be replace fluid (using dextron 2) and an additive called lube gard. I seem to recall something about dextron being the wrong fluid, but they say they do loads of Galaxy's with it :D No fault codes were found at start up. Quote
