Cruise Control

Recommended Posts

Try lifting the clutch pedal up with your foot before activating cruise. There is a micro switch on the pedal which needs to be activated before cruise will work.

Other than that make sure you have no warning lights on the dash or make sure your brake lights work.

Usually it is one of the switches on the brake or clutch pedal.

the ones i could find yes

Hi I have also got 2.3 ghia with cruise control, also doesnt work, I am beginning to think the switches on brake and clutch pedal maybe faulty, or possibly the vacuum pipe that controls speed (this runs from behind control stalk - I think) these are the only culprots i can think of - espescially the switches on pedals, as my old mk1 galaxy switches used to burn out. If i have any joy i will be back on soon.

hi have you checked the rubber piping to the vacumm pump, you can get at it from the small inspection cover in the near side front wheel arch.

mine had perished at the connection cut it back pushed back on all ok .

if you cant see any thing there you can remove the near side front light cluster only 3 torx screws that gives you access to remove and examine the whole pump this is held on with 3 smaal bolts its a bit fiddly but not to hard.

before you try all this dont wish to appear rude buthow have you tried to activate the cruise control have you pressed the button on the end of the stalk a few times in quick concession i have to pump mine about 4/5 times to activate
