shelbournes Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 hope someone can help my galaxy N REG 2L DOHC PETROL is using excessive fuelit seams to use 20-25 mpgthere is also a black over burnt fuelpatch on the ground from the exhaust attimes if the car is left stationary has anyone got any ideas... (1) also I have unplugged the air flowsensor on top of the air filteron the left hand side of the engine andthis seams to have made a bit of differenceto the running of the car(what does this sensor do) (2) I do have some eraticproblems with loss of powerwhen you put your foot down is there any air tubes that go from the engine to the air filter that couldbe blocked I did clean out a tube that goes into the bottom of the air filterbox the over days and that did havesome black deposits in there andI am wondering if this is blockedfurther up whether this would make a differenceto the running of the car I have had loads of sensors changed in the car and the car is displaying no code faults at all thank you so much for your time and any help wouldbe most appreciatedkind rgeards to you all ...mark Quote
chevron169 Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 I have the 2.3 so set up may not be exactly the same but I've had hesitating /LOP problems almost since day 1 and I've had the car 5 years! She's been in and out of Frauds and independents as well, none of whom have diagnosed the problem but I think I've found the answer thanks to comments I've seen elsewhere on this site. I checked the connection (the plug end) of the Lamda sensor. The comment I read elsewhere said they found corrosion on the pins etc. I've not had time to pull the plug apart but I did find that the two ends had come apart slightly. It's a bit difficult to get to so all I had time to do was to push firmly together and spray WD. I'm a bit reluctant to say that it's sorted the problem (after 5 years and Quote
