marinabrid Posted December 15, 2005 Report Posted December 15, 2005 just wondered why this sensor seem to cause probs far end of travel, you wouldnt think it would wear out as you dont spend all the day with your foot flat down.why dont it cause probs in the upper and middle area of travel where most driving is done ?has anyone opened one and tried to clean it up and make it work right again reading thru the threads nearly all the problems are related to when the pedal is floored . i dont knbow just wondered as it cost Quote
El Dingo Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Sorry, but I'm typing slowly, as my left hand is all bandaged <_< ....in some VAG engines the sensor is a potentiometer with a set of contacts at one end of the travel. Which engine code is yours, and I can check? If yours is like the others I have seen, the outputs are closed/open and variable resistance according to throttle position. My experience of these is.... 1. Worn out track/pick-up, so variable output signal goes open circuit. 2. Broken or shorted contacts.3. Water ingress (due to power washing the engine bay). I've never opened one up. Quote
marinabrid Posted December 16, 2005 Author Report Posted December 16, 2005 it be an AFN code engine. Quote
El Dingo Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 This is a control module at the accelerator pedal on AFN? I'm not familiar with it, so ignore me! Sorry... Quote
