Wiper Motor - Blades

My wipers happened to jam together and the motor seems to have lost its 'connection' to the blades mechanism. The wiper blade control mechanism (ball joints etc) are all brand new. Is there a sheer pin or something that connects the motor shaft to the wiper blade mecanism? I know the motor is fine because I can hear it wirring when I flick the switch??

OK - fixed it. Looks like the pressure of the jammed blades worked the retaining nut loose. Removed cowl, retightened wiper motor nut and it all works.

My wife destroyed my old galaxies wipers, there was about 3 inches of ice on the wind screen, and she tried to clear it using the wipers, needless to say, the ice won, and knacked the wipers, and kept jamming, had the fraudsters fix it though, that was before i knew about this forum.
