Ray,

The MkII was launched on the X-plate (2001?). There are a very small number of extremely late W-plate models on MkII.

The MkII is a major upgrade on the earlier MkI. Revised interiors, gearboxes and diesel engines made for a real leap forward. Revised light clusters front and back gave the car a more modern appearance.

In 2002 there was a futher revision to the MkII. You can spot these because they have hollow head restraints to improve rear mirror vision.

In 2004 there was a final revision with slight changes to front grille, driving lamp surrounds and rear light clusters - not much really. 130bhp diesel appears.

Regards.

Have a look on ebay for some old brochures, there's usually a few on there, they have all the details about each model etc. My last one was an early Mk2, registered Oct/Nov 2000 on an X. :D Andy.

To add a little confusion, early Mk2s (Aug 00 to around mid '01) had a slightly different spec'; Headrests without holes in, smaller dia' brakes and crucially, a 2 point static lap strap for the middle seat. Edited by Andrew T

Mum of 4,

I take it you mean your "early Mark II".

I had the same model on an X-plate. Like you, it had full head restraints and only a lap belt for the middle row centre seat.

The other thing that it had was metal grab handles on the front doors. They were painted and scratched quickly. The later model had colour coded plastic handles that didn't scratch. The early metal ones can look unsightly.

Regards
