Guest the speaker eater Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 hey mumof4, i just spoke to a friend on the phone today. he has a focus and was at the ffoc at the weekend. he told me that a woman came over from the galaxy forum and was chatting to him. he's got a red focus thats modded and ice'd up. apparently the woman was impressed at his car and he told her about a friend with a galaxy thats "doing it up". he was given stickers and told to direct him to this site. long and short of the story is; i'm already a member!his focus is the focus on the first page of this post!he's on the picture of the tug of war!he's in his thirties, not forties! small world eh! lol! mid to late 40s eh? :) i guess i must have looked a little rough that morning, its was a long journeyand i really should have had a shave!, perhaps its modifying cars that put years on you :) , it was really good to see you and have a chat, really glad you liked the car, and i did try and get you a new member, but hes allready one of you! :) Cars dont have to be modified to join a club, and yes your right, most meets are to meet the people, not just the cars, i hope to meet you all agin at some more shows etc in the future,Mark Quote

Guest Evilbat Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 Can I just add, that the FFOC Event Co-ordinator at the time decided to invite the Galaxy Owners Club as the Galaxy is a Ford. Our first show was always going to be for Ford vehicles, and it is a shame that a goodly number of invited clubs declined our invitation, were otherwise engaged with a show in Blackpool, or just didn't respond. It is credit to Marian that at least 3 Gal's attended, and I know that the Senior Management Team of the FFOC were delighted that you guys had some representation.Sure the Galaxy has more in common with the Seat/VW, but as car club members, we should be offering support to each other. The Focus/Fiesta ST Owners Club(s) and the FordST Owners Club have also shown interest in becoming more involved with joint meets with the FFOC, which goes to strengthening ties between the "modern" Ford offerings.I hope you can have more regular meets whereby members can get to know each other as more than just an online forum poster. PS, I'm 42. Quote
