Glad you enjoyed yourself - I suggested that we go but had to go in the opposite direction to pick up the eldest and I was vetoed when I suggested we leave her with her sleepover friends :D - sleepovers at 6years old  :D

The main thing, is that our club was there, we had a stand,Yes would have been good if more members could have gone...but such is life.

So you ugly lot...this time next year....it will all be happening again..so i expect a bigger turn out!!..So put it in your diaries now!

It was a laugh and it was fun...I really enjoyed myself and im definately going again next year.

where? 3500 + miles away  unless you were offering to coughing up for the air fair I had no intention of going! let's be honest here, after the turn out of the great get together earlier and the death of earlier meets planned by older members and attempts to get this site organised into a owners club with all the frills offered by other clubs died a death :D I though you would have gathered that not many members would show up! not even the local members turned up to show support!

and before you get on your high horse about me being a kill joy etc..... I was one of the orignals that broke away and tried

more pics ..... the tug of war!!!!!!!

For me..yes i would like more members to turn up....but i know that people have other things going on.

But the main thing for me is that our club was there!!!!!! People looked at our cars..not many..but they were looked at!!

Maybe in time more people will come..

We were not the smallest club there by any means.

Yes i would like to see this club grow..but it will take time and dedication by the members..

More than one car is a meet .

I couldnt go cos i went a robbie williams gig at milton keynes.

Well done you three for going, something like this takes a real lot of planning, would have loved to been able to go but family commitments and that carry on!...will deffo make sure we go next year!

Doesn't a certain someone seem to enjoy slating most things other members either try and plan, say, or do to their cars??!!

If nothing positive is to be said then why bother getting up everyones noses??

Just my thoughts!

(Watch for my reply now!!!!!!) ... :D

That is just his way StevieG  :D

My thanks to galaxy99 and Teresa for coming to the show.

For us to have succesful meets we need dedicated members old and new to help make it work.Whether regional or national.

Change is inevitable..it may happen quickly..or it may happen when we are long gone from this site.No one knows..But i would like this club to evolve to a state where we can have big meets where the members can all help each other. But no one person can do this..it is up to everyone. Some of the ffoc regions have meets in car parks...or at a 24 hour asda or tesco carpark. The location does not make the meet..it is the members themselves.

Yes we are different to the FFOC in that we have 7 /6 seaters for a reason!!..But as Teresa and i saw..some of the members with souped up foci had their families there. The owner of the red car with dvd player in the boot , was no youngster..he had his wife and kids with him and he must have been in his mid to late 40s.

So...for us to have succesful meets..we need you...can be just a day event..or even just a few hours if regional.

Most people don't like change..There were problems when the site changed face..but we are used to it now.

Looking at the frapper map...some of you are quite close to each other..what is stopping you meeting up for a couple of hours?swap info?help each other?

Teresa was given some advice on her paddling pool..and we now know that it is not just a common fault on the Galaxy..it is across the range of ford cars.

It is all well and good to swap info on here..but there is nothing like having a good look at other peoples cars and maybe suggesting something that had not been suggested before.

I would like to see more regional/national meets...but as i said..it is up to you lot to help make it work..Have a look at the frapper map..see who is close to you...see if they would like to meet for a few hours...take it from there.I cannot organise regional meets...it is up to you lot as i dont know your areas.Go armed with toolboxes etc and info and im sure a lot of problems we have may get solved quicker.

Anyway..i think ive rambled enough..I hope you understand what im trying to say and what i would like to see happen.. :D

3.5.....he is one of the oldest members and knows a lot of technical info...he may be grouchy but he is a gem.. ...

I don't think it's a question of not us accepting change.

I came to this website 2.5 years ago looking into aircon problems, where I found a great information resource with some very knowlegeable (and at times entertaining) members. This site has something of an addictive quality and I always enjoy "dropping in " as some light relief from my work.

But for me that's where it ends, much as I enjoy cars and driving our Famillies main interest is in outdoor pursuits and that's what our weekends are spent doing. I really couldn't imagine going and looking at Ford Galaxys in a Tesco car park. No offence to those who do, it's just not our thing. That said, if a local member was having problems I would do what I could to help them but that's not likely given where we live.

So please don't get upset at the apparent appathy for club events, it might just be other members feel like me?

Now if only I could get my local Tesco to make a special "Galaxy only" area in the car park......

I understand that meeting up is not for everyone. For some its just a car to transport kids/furniture etc..For others it may be that little bit more..which i am discovering that it is for me..sad i know...but i like the galaxy and talking to other Galaxy owners i have met.

My friends take the p155 as they cant understand why i want to go to car shows..or be able to service my own car..or travel the country going to a show..But i cant say that i am a typical wifey that sits at home drinking coffee and yakking about kids 24/7.

I want to tinker with the car..i want to go to shows and meets.

One of the things that has come from going to the National show run by the FFOC..is that bridges are being built between the two clubs,i.e.if they have smaller meets we would be welcome...information swapped..that type of thing.

I spoke at length to the organisors of the show and the admins of the site.Much info was gleaned from them and much was learnt.

No i wont get upset if peeps dont want to come..as i now realise that we are not alone in this happening...just one of those things..not everyone is as die hard as me i guess!

Pleased you had a good time ,sorry more people didn't show up, after all the effort you put into this ,but like me lots of things get in the way -sons football ,complete lack of interest from wife and other kids ,and i didn't fancy an 8 hour round trip by myself. So better luck next year !
