can someone tell me does a diesel have any form of cat system on the exhaust as mine has failde the mot with it cause it has a hole in it anybody got pics of the underside of a diesel gal

Havent got any photos, but have got the pics from TIS which state that 1.9 tdi does have a cat.

The facelifted (post-2000) TDI's have a catalyst although I do not belive that it is required for the MOT. Unsure about earlier models though

If there is a hole in the exhaust (regardless of whether in the catalyst or elsewhere) it will fail. Dangerous exhasut gasses could be leaking into the passenger cabin instead of being disposed of at the back of the vehicle. Fail every time.

The facelifted (post-2000) TDI's have a catalyst although I do not belive that it is required for the MOT.

A problem being of course the noise caused by the missing 18 inches.... :blink:

 

Unsure about earlier models though

All Shalaxys diesel and petrol have CATs.
