Guest seacam Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 2.3 petrol Galaxy Ghia, tiptronic, 03 plate. Hello, When I start the vehicle, two lights remain on, Selector lever lock warning light and lamp failure warning light, without selecting gear or moving off and having checked all the exterior lights, ( which all work ),when I press the brake pedal these two lights go off, is this normal. I would very much like to purchase a Workshop CD/DVD. My understanding is the Elsawin is the better one to go for. I looked on E-bay and was swamped, could some one post a link off ebay or elsewhere else where I can purchase one and where there is a good chance it will work. Am I correct in believing once installed on my desktop PC I will then have to enter a VW vin number to be able to read the disk or am I getting a little muddled. Quote

Yes this is normal, until you complete the circuit by operating the brakes the brake light bulbs are not included in the circuit and show up as failed on the display Quote

Guest seacam Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 I thought I should just update this thread, I knew it was going to happen, I purchased Elsawin off the auction site and got conned. So on the premice you pay for what you get, I paid top dollar for the latest, again off the auction site, they arrived today. Installation was convuluted and time consuming but no problems, can take up a chunk of HD if you don't have a lot to spare. The wife and kids are at Bluewater this weekend, I shall delve into Elsawin then, one thing is for sure, I had a peek, it's for spanner heads or members with that level of understanding of which I have very little, I was warned. ;) Quote

Guest seacam Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 isle of sheppy(sheerness) im going to eastchurch on sunday lol :( I know Eastchurch, not to well mind you but when I visit Leysdown and there is a Chineese take-way going the family use this small take-away in Eastchurch, which they say exists and I've never been able to find. I can take or leave Chineese but I have to admit---not bad. Now I'm T2 diabetic but to hell with it, their fritters, yes, :D Quote
