had a test drive in a 06plate 130psi mk2 today against the new 140psi model. trouble is i like some parts of the old model and the drive of the new one. both were much better power to my 90psi one. not sure i want to spend that much money though? i will keep looking and wait for the one i want to show itself!

My experience of warehouses...

Car Giant is OK and prices are very good; just remember 'Caveat Emptor'. You can get a test drive, but limited to local roads (no Motorway) unless you can persuade them otherwise.

MJA in Guildford are not as cheap, but supply good service and a really excellent warranty. Test drive no problem.

The 'Trade Sales'/'Motorpoint' places are not for the faint hearted, and don't generally deal in anything as old as 02 plate. Forget a test drive unless you have placed a deposit, and even then under protest.

Good luck with the Galaxy hunt... :P

well went to cargiant near wembely, the photos of the car were showing a nice car in very clean condition. how the camerea lies... the rear wheel arch had a scape all the doors were chiped from opening onto something the bonnet was pebble dashed and all alloys were kerbed badly. had alook at other galaxys and not impressed by any of them. all had bumps and scrapes. the price is non negotable, plus a scam of

Well Suzuki91 also mentioned auction. This is fine, but even more a case of Caveat Emptor, as I am sure you know.

I have seen good stuff at Car Giant... and crap too. It's good to walk away if you don't feel comfortable.

It's a choice, isn't it.

What do you want?

Very generally:

Lowest price/highest risk = auction

Mid price/mid risk = car supermarket

Highest price/lowest risk = dealer/specialist

Good luck with the search. ;)

Could not agree more El dingo

That's why I got mine from a dealer and have had a new cam belt, CD autochanger and new replacement vents.

I know I could have got a cheaper deal by looking for a private sale, supermarket or auction but feel I have done the right thing as it turned out.
