suzuki91 Posted September 16, 2006 Author Report Posted September 16, 2006 been there thanks, still looking. any one know of cargiant? they have a few for sale at what look like good prices. Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 been told that car warehouse places, are not to good, only ever been 2 one Quote
El Dingo Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 My experience of warehouses... Car Giant is OK and prices are very good; just remember 'Caveat Emptor'. You can get a test drive, but limited to local roads (no Motorway) unless you can persuade them otherwise. MJA in Guildford are not as cheap, but supply good service and a really excellent warranty. Test drive no problem. The 'Trade Sales'/'Motorpoint' places are not for the faint hearted, and don't generally deal in anything as old as 02 plate. Forget a test drive unless you have placed a deposit, and even then under protest. Good luck with the Galaxy hunt... :P Quote
suzuki91 Posted September 26, 2006 Author Report Posted September 26, 2006 well went to cargiant near wembely, the photos of the car were showing a nice car in very clean condition. how the camerea lies... the rear wheel arch had a scape all the doors were chiped from opening onto something the bonnet was pebble dashed and all alloys were kerbed badly. had alook at other galaxys and not impressed by any of them. all had bumps and scrapes. the price is non negotable, plus a scam of Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 word of warning here then dont buy from cargiant :? Quote
El Dingo Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 Well Suzuki91 also mentioned auction. This is fine, but even more a case of Caveat Emptor, as I am sure you know. I have seen good stuff at Car Giant... and crap too. It's good to walk away if you don't feel comfortable. It's a choice, isn't it.What do you want? Very generally:Lowest price/highest risk = auctionMid price/mid risk = car supermarketHighest price/lowest risk = dealer/specialist Good luck with the search. ;) Quote
jwilliams Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Could not agree more El dingo That's why I got mine from a dealer and have had a new cam belt, CD autochanger and new replacement vents. I know I could have got a cheaper deal by looking for a private sale, supermarket or auction but feel I have done the right thing as it turned out. Quote
