stevejannicole Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 :o Can anyone let me know if getting a coolbox is worth the money. Do they really get cool/cold/luke or what? :D Quote
adrianf. Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Ive got one of the Ford fitted ones that clips into the floor when a seat is removed. I find it works very well indeed. I sometimes put a couple of icepacks inside if i want to cool it dowm quickly but other than that it keeps things realy cool (or warm if you turn the plug around)They are very expensive if you buy a new one but there are usually a couple floating :D around on e-bay Quote

MrT Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 I have got the Ford one and it is very good. I also have some of the Halfords ones and they are not as good. The Ford one (Electrolux) has a fan inside to circulate the hot or cold air from the Peltier unit around the box whilst the Halford's boxes only have a flat metal plate inside. They both have a fan to blow the air on the outside. The Ford box also uses less current. With the Halfords boxes they all appear to use the same cooling unit so the tiny one uses as much power as the largest. The Halfords boxes can be carried to picnics like a large picnic box, albeit heavy but the Ford box can only really be left in the car. Quote
