NikpV Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006
Hi to everyone. Thanks
IIRC its not as simple as pulling off the door and mounting another, I think the hinges need individually welding into place so wht are you replacing with - if new problably doesn't have hinges if secondhand the hinge may not be in quite the same place Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 still he knows how to do the door card also Quote

Guest bamboo Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Hi guys. Thanks for the replies. It's an X reg vehicle. The door was bought on Ebay secondhand so the hinges are welded. On the top hinge there's an odd shaped pin which goes into the hinge pin, how do I get this out? Does it screw out or just pull?? Cheers Quote
Vanbursta Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 No - no complicted procedure, just unbolt the hinge pins and lift the door off, official procedure is as below:- The hinge pin stays with the door (or the mounting can't remember which but you DON'T remove the hinge pins), you do need the hex driver that fits the hinge locking pins though, about Quote

fclauson Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Hi all had my door off too (as per my other post re wiring problem) On re-attaching the door the door strap (thing for stopping door opening too far) will not extend far enough to re-attached - what have I got wrong ? How do I release this it feels as though it caught inside the door Quote
fclauson Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Fixed - brute force and ignorance - and a lot of pulling Francis Quote

P4tvw Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 Hi has anyone got this PDF file they could email me I can't seem to get it open It p4tdesigns@btinternet.com Quote
lewp2507 Posted September 21, 2019 Report Posted September 21, 2019 I've followed the procedure but just can't get the door to go down low enough. The pins are sitting about an eighth of an inch too high. Ive tried the trusty hammer but it just wont go down. The original door came of easy enough and I've had to put it back on and it just dropped into place.Did they change anything , 're the diameter of the pins or the hinge it fits in to? I really can't see any difference so maybe I am missing something. Any advice would be appreciated. It's a 2006 vw Sharon and the replacement door is off a 2005 model, thanks Quote
