Hello again people. Well I've just replaced the heater matrix (2 days) and now i've noticed a small leak that i can only assume is from the water pump (fns of gal). Will it never end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've searched the forum but can't find anything on the V6 re water pump change. Has anyone changed one or know how to. Thanks in advance.

Ps its a MK1 2.8.

Never changed the water pump, and you don't need to either!

It's the thermostat housing if it's N/S front.

...Oh, and no it will never end BTW.

If it's the same layout as the 1.9tdi LX model its tricky enough ........ engine mounting has to come off ........ engine has to be supported .........and when your in there you might as well change the Timeing belt or cam belt not sure what you's call them as the water pump on the 1.9 tdi is bang smack in the middle of that ........... i did it along with my garage man (very good friend too!!) and it took us 5 hours .......... good luck with it on your own.........

Yes but just think of the fun you will have fixing it all, then when it's all done and you decide you've had enough and sell it, the next owner thinks "brilliant car this - absolutely nothing wrong with it" :-)

I know it feels bad but you will really enjoy the car once you have everything sorted, at least there are people on here who can help, so you are not alone with your troubles! Good Luck
