Hi everyone,

Just replaced the original battery on my 96 2.0 - not bad especially considering we spent some time in Norway in winter. Anyhow when I reconnected the new battery the odometer and trip meter read km. My mother in law has an S reg 1.9 TDI and had the same problem but it was reset by a garage. I'm too tight to pay them - anyone know if there's a way to reset to miles?

Cheers

Perhaps it was a foreign battery ????

Not certain on the Galaxy but on other Ford models if you hold the trip reset in (10 secs ?) it changes over between metric and imperial.

Be careful - on some versions, this resets the service interval calculating bit of the computer (if fitted).

The "service interval calculating" bit simply displays the "need" to service the vehicle every 5000kms doesn't it (according to the handbook)?

The handbook tells you how to reset it as well....

hi, disconect battery, get a assistant to press and hold the trip button in on dash, reconnect the battery, and about 13 to 15 seconds later realease trip button and it will read miles again,or vice-versa if you want kilometers.

we work on these pods all the time at work.
