NikpV Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 usual to whip it off and grease the bendix (cog on helical gear which engages with the teeth on the flywheel) shaft gets dirty/sticky and wont disengage quickly after engine has started sounds noisey/screechy until it lets go. Quote

NikpV Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 last time I did this (not a gal) used lithium grease and applied to the teeth and the helical bit so that it rotated and move in and out smoothly - IIRC Quote
