I'm sure I've read somewhere about a spare connector/wire around here but I don't think this is it, is there evidence that it was connected - plastic clean where it would mate to a socket

the plastic bit has melted at some point, near somthing hot i'd guess, but it was elec taped and hidden down the back of the air box, just wondered if anyone else had it on theirs , as i don't have a wiring diagram, cheers

i have a mk1 and without looking at mine i am sure that is the air temp sensor plug. but you say you have that already, the only other plug i can think of that looks like that is the injector plug ? but you must have that also or your car would go like a tractor

I know the plug you mean! I used to have a 99 zetec tdi 110 galaxy which also had a spare plug. It was cable tied to the maf wiring.

thanks for your reply , you'd think they would have put a blank over the end  , but cheers anyway ;)
