Deactivate Passenger Airbag

Is it possible to deactivate the passenger airbag on a 2002 ford galaxy. I have reviewed earlier postings which say it is possible, although not straightforward, but this seems to apply to earlier models. Is it the same for the 2002 version?

You need VAGCOM to deactivate the airbag, but why would you want to do that. Rear facing children's seats should always be put in one of the rear seats in my opinion.
