Guest HairyPlateEater Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 lol Maybe if we asked Glen to make the search button neon pink with a lime green outline, people might see it and use it? Just a thought?! Quote

raymac Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 Seem to remember this being covered many times before with lots of good advice given and links to test data for different types of bulb upgrades. Hit the search button and all shall be revealed :o To be honest i tried the search button a few times yesterday and got no joy :o i think sometimes it can be a bit tempremental or just mental :o Quote
soptom Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 The trouble with using the search button is that it invariably drags up topics filled with posts about using the search button rather than just answewring the question. Quote
Guest HairyPlateEater Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 maybe if the search button was used, those posts wouldnt be there in the first place?!?! Just one of life's great quandries!! :o This is a good post as are most of the 11 pages of posts if "Headlight" is searched for. :o Quote
Andrew T Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 Agreed the search facility can be temperamental, it will throw up different answers to the same enquiry at different times. I have also had difficulty in finding threads which I can recall reading in the past. However (as a general gripe and not aimed at anyone in particular) it appears that some people make no effort to do any research before posting a question, as there is sometimes identical topic on a current or recent thread which answers their question. Quote
mumof4 Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 A lot of the newbies do search and use the forum before they actually post on here...some dont.It can be exasperating..(big word for me!!) when they do post a question without searching or start a new thread when there may be already one going. Just a thought here..sexist one at that.....consider this......how many of you (men) actually read a manual/ instruction leaflet before attempting a repair or to build something????(Honest now please).. :D Now think....how many of the newbies do you think will read the forum guidelines before posting??? <_< ...A lot of them may have been searching for answers for a long time/spent tonns of spends on their car...now they have found a site that can help them! Herein lies the problem!!..Some may be too impatient and want/require/need answers asap. I know how relieved i was at finding this site after searching for ages for help...and i must confess that i didnot search when i first joined..I use it all the time now as im sure the newbies will once the adrenaline rush of finding the site has worn off!! :D B) (Appologies to all i have offended by my sexist remarks. ) Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 mum very true on this one the thing i like about using the search system is im looking for something ,to do with current problems i may have but i then come across something else,i may have problems with its great..plus you might bring up a old post, that someone, has some new input on ,that can help us all how much fun is that <_< Quote
norwichbluenose Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 The main problem is some of the topics wander off the subject a bit, also i find that you sometimes remember seeing a particular post and forget were, (it took me ages to out about the new pollen filter but I knew it was there somewhere). Andy B Quote
mumof4 Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 True..i know this topic has wandered a bit but for once im not to blame  We as mods will be getting strictor especially in the technical threads about threads going off topic..and banter in the posts that is unnecessary.Yes i know that one problem leads to another..but i could suggest that the problem it leads to could be started in another thread with a link linking it to the original problem....What do you think? I have a feeling i may have to split this topic....havent split one yet so may ask neil to!! <_< Quote
norwichbluenose Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Ok I have changed my headlight bulbs, the difference is amazing. i can now see further than 10 yards in front .Changing was a little bit of a pig but on on a scale of 1 to 10, I would say it was about 3, once i had made up an extension to reach the bottom screw on each headlight. Guest MATT jr Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 at least it defaults to 'anytime' mmmm, that makes me suspect that the search engine isnt loading correctly at my end. i only have 1 box, in which to enter key words - all other option have gone since the site had its face pulled down lift. MJR Quote
NikpV Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 should get this screen - well at least this is what i see if you dont try clearing site cookies from the main screen Quote
Guest MATT jr Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 yeah - my tools are F&$%@D - all i get is one box to put my keywords in, so will have to play with it tomorrow. O Well MJR Quote
