Hi, I've read a lot of posts on this forum today and learnt a lot (thank you), however I would like to ask a specific question that I either couldn't find an answer to or didn't quite understand.

On the back of the stereo are three leads, grey telephone/ribbon type, yellow 6pin block then the black 8 pin power block.

As I understand it the yellow block is for the stalk controller and the grey one goes to the amp and speakers?

I am trying to fit a JVC head unit and have bought the following to get it to work:

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_in...roducts_id=4184

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_in...roducts_id=3484

However, I still have the wrong connections. I want to bypass the factory fitted amp and it looks like i need this:

Is that correct?

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

For anyone else who's had a problem with this stereo there's a great post here:

I had to slightly modify the Maystar Px730 cable by removing one of the plastic blocks in the bottom of the adaptor socket for the speaker cable that was preventing me from pushing the cable all the way in.

To get the steering stalk working you need to splice the ends of the px730 onto an autoleads 29-636.

I found very little info on this radio on the net so hopefully this post and the one mentioned above will solve everyone's problems when replacing it.

Hi Jonn,

Welcome to the forum! Great use of the search button there, and glad you got your HU replaced with little effort!
