Guest 3.5bullet Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 http://www.freedomtrailriders.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/friggenmonkeyhead.gifDid we not suggest to you that this is a fluid level related problem http://www.freedomtrailriders.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif either the sensor in the expansion bottle or the wiring to the sensor Quote
strouf Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 Try disconecting the sensor on the expansion bottle. This should stop the light from flashing. Then you know the sensor is faulty. If the light doesn't go off , you 're looking for a wiring problem. Quote
Guest neil_wiles Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 If you disconnect the wiring to the expansion tank it will just show with a firm red light in the dash so its possibly just a dirty contact in the plug so removing and refitting it would probably show a change. I have had the same on my MK1 Quote
strouf Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 If you disconnect the wiring to the expansion tank it will just show with a firm red light in the dash ... in that case you can check the expansion tank sensor,by connecting the two leads going to it. If this stops the problem, you know the sensor is faulty. Quote
sepulchrave Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 If you're really worried about it fit a new expansion tank, otherwise whip the instruments out and remove the offending bulb, reassemble and hey presto no more sleepless nights! ;) Quote
