I have Swedish 1.9 Tdi and apart from changing MAF last year it was working without a hitch so far. But after driving through the heavy storm and two feet of water A/C failed , heating to a half of the front screen does not heat and red position lights don't work.

I checked all of the fuses and tried to find a relay board, but surprisingly I could not find it. I have the original manual and recently released Haynes manual, and both of them suggest that all the relays should be above fuse board and partly next to the turbo charger..

NOT in my car!!!

Car manual is even wrong for the fuse board

#what year is your car? if its a pre facelift version the relays for screen heater will #be in the aux fuse and relay box in the engine compartment!

I know, but this box does not exist in my car (it suppose to be in the l/h corner next to the turbo), Year is 1999. 90 HP TDI.

#the fuse for the screen heater is in the main fuse board (central junction box)

#f 27. 50 amp, relay k164 (in engine bay)

All fuses are ok, checked individualy...

# but as you state that you have lost only one half of the screen i would check the #continuity of the heater elements and the connections to them! these are up #under the windscreen surround trim panels inside the car

will check it today....

# red position lights don't work...... which lights are these?

normal red position lights below the blinkers, here in Sweden lights are wired to work constantly, so when switched to zero position they should be on, if i switch lights to normal, night position those work but not in zero position, that means wiring, fuses and light bulbs are ok...

I am going now to check possibility that fuse board is layered (but i doubt tit)...

Thanks anyway...
