purplemadboy Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Hi Guys and Dolls, 05 plate Gal ,drivers window has 1 shot down and up,after 3 goes window is still not right, you have to hold the button down all the way and on the up it goes up and then comes back down 3 inches. The enginer (hohoho)did not check his work and now the back ofside window switch sticks because the door trim is not put on properly. So I have to take the car back again and pay for my insurance to be transferred to the loan car (take the p... or what)Any idea what the problem realy is as Ford (Reg Vardy ,Motherwell0 dont have a clue. purplemadboy Posted September 15, 2006 Author Report Posted September 15, 2006 Ok car has been in 4 times now and window lasted a week this time. They say they repgm the window  what ever that means.spoke to an independante mechanice and he said it would be the window motor as the safty sensor is within the motor.....who is right.... Quote
NikpV Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 does it stay up if you use global closing from outside the car (overides the safety trap feature) if so then yes the safety overide is malfunctioning. Glass isnt tight in the runners is it - try some silicone lubricant (could be as you said 'it lasted a week' this time~) Quote

mike99 Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 had this same problem on my mk4 golf.Drivers window would hit the top and then come down about 3 inches, took it to 2 different VW dealers. none of them fixed it, but it did sometimes go for up to a month before doing it again. Quote
