TKPeters Posted August 27, 2006 Report Posted August 27, 2006 Does bio diesel affect the performance,is there anything i have to change before using it.How much is it per litre and does any one know where it can be bought? :( We use a 100% mix in our 2002 (52) Galaxy Ghia TDi No noticeable loss in power, we have noticed smoother & quieter runningThe best thing for Biodiesel is that it is Carbon Neutral i.e. No Emissions that add to Global Warming Noting needs changing when first using it although I would recommend to start with a 50/50 mix as the Biodiesel cleans the tank out & you will need to change the fuel filter within 1000miles ( Quote

PhilT Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Apparently you can only use 100% Biodiesel in 1999 onwards (because of the hoses) up to mid-2004. See http://www.vegetableoildiesel.co.uk/forum/...read.php?tid=75 and search down to '2004'. Seems a bit backward looking (or are the manufacturers in the pockets of the oil companies)? Phil. Quote

TKPeters Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 There are more places to buy it from, some of them may take a little research as not all of them have websites If you can tell me where you're based I will have a look (A town rather than Dorset) Pre 1998 cars have rubber hoses which perish with BiodieselPost 2004 VW engines are the new 16v diesels which have not been tested on B100 So as a precaution VW state 1998-2004 are OK on B100 (100% mix of Biodiesel) Quote
