big_ralge Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Hi all I am new to the forum, I am looking at buying a 1998 2.0 glx ford galaxy from a salvage company. I went to have a look at the car today and really good condition stolen recovered with keys, when I started the engine after about 1min a little red light startrd flashing above the temperature gauge does anyone know what this light means apart from over heating but it shouldn't over heat after one minute of running should it. Thanks John Quote

Guest 3.5bullet Posted August 27, 2006 Report Posted August 27, 2006 IIRC flashing red light = low fluid perminant red light = over heating! so it could be low fluid or a duff sensor/wireing to the bottle? which means a new bottle which isnt that dear to replace :( Quote

Guest neil_wiles Posted August 27, 2006 Report Posted August 27, 2006 On the back of the header tank there is an electrical connector if this has been knocked off or damaged it results in a flashing temperature red light, I forgot to reconnect it on my old MK1 after doing the clutch and it was exactly the same, reconnected and it was fine.
