johnnymac Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Sorry if I sound thick, but where does oil filter go on Mondeo TDCI (2002)? And do I need to remove an underneath cover to access the drainage point on the sump? Quote
Guest Kevin Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 hi Johnny. I have a 2004 130 TDCi. The oil filter is an insert type one and you have to remove the sump guard/splash tray to get to the sump plug anyway. If you do change the oil yourself, the filter has to be carefully torqued up. Find a manual as this info is not in the handbook This is a job definately not worth doing yourself!! Better the car is up on a four poster anyway. The TDCi engine loves synthetic oil. It will run smoother, quieter, release more power and will feel more responsive. Go to National Tyres and have a sump full of BP Visco 7000 0/40 full synthetic oil put in. It will cost you Quote
johnnymac Posted August 28, 2006 Author Report Posted August 28, 2006 Kevin, I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my query. I feel a bit of a phoney being a member of this forum group as I have so little to offer in the way of advice but an awful lot to learn! Thanks again. Quote
