jwilliams Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 Does anyone know if an audi remote key can be reprogrammed for use with the galaxy? They have three buttons on them and a flip out blade. They use the same frequency as the ford key Quote

Can anyone say for the Skoda keys? Quote
strouf Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 I know that the VW ,Skoda and Seat flip out keys with two buttons work for sure. Audi key might also work , since they use the same freq. but can't be sure. Quote

jwilliams Posted August 25, 2006 Author Report Posted August 25, 2006 I think that would do nicely. Which car is that remote for? Quote
bigdaddy Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 Or even a real Audi Key Or go here to get a VW flip key with a new blank Clicky Here Quote
jwilliams Posted August 25, 2006 Author Report Posted August 25, 2006 Just finding some VW ones on ebay either 433 or 434 MHz Gal one is 433.92 Which one works? :P Quote
strouf Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Hi , I was thinking of the Mk2 , the 433 freq. will work. I doubt if there's 433 and 434 freq. keys, probably the exact is 433,9 and it it's reffered as "434" or "433". The tag i was given with my new car displays "433" .... Quote
Guest peter312 Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 There seem to be quite a few of these on eBay at the mo (eg here, here and here ), all uncut with the right frequency, but different part numbers. Do the part numbers matter if the key is being bought for a Galaxy? ThanksPeter ;) Quote
jwilliams Posted September 1, 2006 Author Report Posted September 1, 2006 Got one off ebay. Been away on hols so have not got it cut yet but will report back if it works or not. Only paid Quote
strouf Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 It will probably work just fine, but you might want to programm it first , at least the locking part , just to be sure!! Quote
Bigjeeze Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Quick question: I know that you need to get keys programmed before the will work - I think this is because of the PATS system - Does this mean then that I can get a key cut - it will open the doors etc but will not start the car -or not? Quote

Yes, it can be done. You simply programm only the lock-unlock commands. Quote
jwilliams Posted September 2, 2006 Author Report Posted September 2, 2006 Thought I had to get it cut to program it. How do you progam without it being cut? Quote
strouf Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 You are absolutely right, you need to turn the key in order to programm it... I am sorry for giving you the wrong info !! But you still can programm either one of the key features ( engine start or remote lock ). Quote
Marky Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 Just ordered a 433Mhz 2 button VW flip remote....let you know how I get on... apparently the 434Mhz won't work.... Quote
jwilliams Posted September 5, 2006 Author Report Posted September 5, 2006 I can confirm that the 434MHz remote does not work. Has anyone tried the audi 3 button ones as they are 433.92? Quote
NikpV Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 I thought that the 434 was just the common usage for the 433.92MHz :) Quote
Marky Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 I'm having trouble with a 433Mhz two button remote as well!! Keep you posted  Quote
jwilliams Posted September 8, 2006 Author Report Posted September 8, 2006 How far have you got with the 433? Car does not seem to recieve from remote when doing the " While holding the LOCK button down, press the UNLOCK button three times on the remote transmitter then release both buttons simultaneously." Am not getting the 5 flashes from the door LED I have been playing with the remote part and the non remote key as I have not got the blank cut until I get the remote part to work. If I manage to code it does anyone know where to get thid type of key cut? Are normal key cutting places able (I doubt it)? Quote
