keith9534 Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 Got a "new" amplifier for my Mk1 as I couldn`t get any sound from the radio.......fitted a changer unit But I can`t get any sound from the middle set of speakers? Is there any common fault in this area? I really don`t want to start pulling everything out unless I have too.........anyone? Quote
katman Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 Do you know why the original amp failed ? Broken wires in the door boot is a common fault and it is possible that the wires in the middle doors could be broken. It is also possible that they shorted out and led to the demise of the original amp. Check the wiring in the door boots ASAP to eliminate the possiblity of killing your new amp. Quote
keith9534 Posted August 23, 2006 Author Report Posted August 23, 2006 Original amp had a blown Ic (Tda 7253) Will check the speaker wiring...seems strange how its both sides of one set though? The amp has four seperate channels so it could be that each pair uses one channel. Quote

Zonal_82 Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 I Just puchased a 1998 R reg galaxy and about a week later i realised that when opening the driver side passenger door the two speakers in the door stop working. Not only that but when i closed the door they didnt work for about three minutes afterwards. I'm planning on looking at the wireing in the door cards as there must be a break in the cables. Very annoying though until i do!! Quote
seatkid Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 The problem is probably in the rubber boot to the door. Common problem. Quote
Zonal_82 Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 Is that the small switch that senses if the door is open? or the housing of the cables? Quote
mk2vr6 Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 its the bit thats near the hinges on the a and b posts, the big black rubber bellows Quote
